Election Day is upon us and first things first—are you ready to cast your vote? We recommend you visit Vote.org for specific information about the ways you can vote in your state.

The election might bring up a lot of questions, feelings, and opinions for students. You can plan ahead for talking about the election in your classroom with What will you do on Wednesday? from Teaching Tolerance or this blog from Edutopia focused on students' social and emotional needs related to the election.

Collaborate With Parents

Here are some lessons and activities to try:

Anatomy & Physiology: Introduce the general structure and regions of the Digestive System and reinforce students’ learning with annotated notes in this Digestive System Summary video.

Biotechnology: Have your students learn more about DNA cloning and its processes, through the Bacterial Transformation & Selection and afterwards, further their engagement through this virtual lab, Transforming Bacteria Simulation.

Health Careers: Since the beginning of the outbreak, health care providers have been shown more support, solidarity, and gratitude than they ever have. Unfortunately, there are continual attacks on health care that now include incidents. Look over Attacks on health care in the context of COVID-19 with your students and discuss the responses, impacts, and more.
