HOW WE'RE TEACHING ONLINE
Want to record video instructions for your students? Check out Loom, one of our favorite free edtech tools. You can easily record your screen along with a video of you talking, and add simple edits like drawing on screen or trimming out parts of your recording. Then review these tips to make sure you look and sound your best on your video calls.
WHAT WE'RE LEARNING - RACIAL EQUITY IN PRACTICE
Use this workbook to learn about the four elements of a culturally competent classroom and assess your cultural competence and responsiveness. And invite your students and alumni to join “Youth Voice on Voting” an interactive discussion on October 8 at 4:30 PM ET. Participants will talk about the importance of voting, how you can get involved in your community, and the issues that matter the most to them.
WHEN WORK-BASED LEARNING GOES VIRTUAL
Check out these instructions on how to use Google maps to identify local businesses. This is a great project for students to support outreach efforts and develop understanding of the businesses in their local community. Then learn how to engage employers for work-based learning and service on advisory boards
