Here are some new lesson and activity ideas for this week:
Finance & Business: Remember the toilet paper shortage during the first months of COVID-19? Have your students participate in the Toilet Paper Wars to understand the competing forces of supply and demand. Then, use the simple calculator to figure out How Much Toilet Paper? they will need during the next crisis. This economics lesson is designed to be conversational.
Health Sciences: Use this National Geographic video to introduce all the major systems in the Human Body. Then, implement the CTE Online Module - Musculoskeletal System with lesson plans covering types of skeletal structures, bone development, joints and motion, and muscle contractions and locomotion.
Hospitality & Tourism: Have your students experience the journey of real young entrepreneurs and research an entrepreneur's characteristics as they Design a New Drink.
Information Technology: The National Puppy Shelter is having a problem getting their dogs adopted. Have your students create virtual dogs generated in Javascript from CTE Online, to help potential adopters learn about the various breeds.

WHAT WE'RE LEARNING - RACIAL EQUITY IN PRACTICE
Watch this video from the Museum of African-American History and Culture, where Dr. DiAngelo helps us ask, "Why does understanding white privilege matter?" Dr. DiAngelo also appeared on Jimmy Fallon this past summer to talk about why white people should stop saying they’re not racist. Then check out this research showing that children not only recognize race from a very young age, but also develop racial biases by ages three to five.
