Resource of the Week
Hip Hop in Education + Hour of Code
Join us for a fireside chat on November 19 at 3pm EST with Dr. Edmund Adjapong, Assistant Professor and Program Director within the Department of Educational Studies at Seton Hall University and former middle school science educator. Dr. Adjapong's current focus is on how to incorporate youth culture into educational spaces, specifically on utilizing hip-hop culture and sensibilities as an approach to teaching and learning.

There is still time to register your students for Hour of Code taking place December 7-13, 2020. This year’s event has been designed with remote learning in mind to support the various classroom models taking place during this time.
IT & Engineering Curriculum
Here are some resources for you to create a fun and exciting week:

Programming: Welcome to the DragonScript Arena game! Here students can build their Dragon A.I. robots using Javascript and Software Engineering skills.

Web/Digital Design: Create an interactive site with your students, advertising a new product or service using the Google Web Design App.

App Development: Technovation Girls invites teams to compete in the annual global competition. Sign up before January 2021 with a team and create an app that solves a real-world problem!

Artificial Intelligence: Explore Artificial Intelligence-Based Home Automation by automating a simulated home that uses voice commands to turn on appliances using PictoBlox. Afterwards, your students can replicate this project to a real-life room with lights, fans, and radios.

Engineering: Have your students go on a virtual field trip to Black & Decker’s Makerspace to learn how creativity and teamwork result in technology innovation. Then have them enter the Innovation Generation Challenge, where they learn building, doing, and making an impact in the community. Enter before January 28, 2021!

Integrated Project: In this activity, learn to be green! Have your students design a Sustainable Tiny House with at least three LEED certification standards.
