CTE Month Resource

NAF started as one NAF Academy of Finance in New York City in 1980 and has grown to serve over 117,000 students annually in more than 600 academies focused on growing industries including finance, hospitality and tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences.In 2020, NAF academies reported a graduation rate of 99%, with 87% of graduates planning to attend college. Learn more about the NAF academies in your state and see highlights from select states with a high concentration of NAF academies: Florida, North Carolina, Texas.February is CTE Month and we’re excited to bring you an integrated project! Over the next four weeks, students will learn how to create awareness for their career academy by: building a marketing plan, creating a presentation, producing photo or video tours, and sharing relevant links to policy and industry.

Week 1:

Students build their visuals and storyboard to create their own virtual tour.Teacher Resources: Student Resources:

Week 2:

Students can use familiar programs like Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint, or check out the latest industry applications like Adobe Spark, Canva, or Wix.Virtual Brochure – Students use a graphic design program to create a virtual brochure to market and increase their career academy awareness.Teacher Resources: Student Resources:

Week 3

Students create a Virtual Roadmap that projects the exciting career pathways they can embark upon after graduation. New applications that students can use for this week’s assignment include Book Creator, Sploder, and GDevlop.Teacher Resources: Student Resources

Week 4

Students participate in a product presentation with peer reviews to select the marketing products that impact the target audience. Then, the class posts the final marketing plan online.Use Pinterest, Padlet, school web page, or other applications to showcase the final marketing plan products.Teacher Resources: Student Resources
