We are less than a month away from election day and that means we’re all being flooded with political ads. This week we’re encouraging students to think critically about the ads they’re seeing with this fun Spot the Troll game and this lesson on evaluating the truth on social media

And check out our Be Voter Ready toolkit to help your colleagues and voting-age students learn about casting their votes in the 2020 election! You’re welcome to share the toolkit at go.NAF.org/vote with anyone else you think would benefit!

Live Event: COVID-19 + Technology
COVID-19 has brought a lot of uncertainty to how the future of work and education looks like, but one thing is certain – technology is key to making the future better.

Finance & Business Curriculum
Here are some lessons and activities to try:

Finance: Many employers consider applicants’ credit history in the hiring process. Use these following lessons to help introduce students to essential basics about credit:

1. Establishing and Managing Credit develops students’ ability to manage credit responsibly and explains how this translates into a credit score.

2. Understanding Your Credit Score and Credit Report introduces the three major nationwide credit bureaus that use your credit history to develop a credit score.

3. Improving Your Credit explores ways to improve credit history even if it is nothing to brag about right now.

Accounting: Use these YouTube videos to help your students understand and analyze an income statement and then explain profit and loss

Business: Engage students in learning economics with EconEdLink’s Baseball Economics 201. In this activity, students will find the average salary of an MLB player, identify MLB revenue sources, and use economic reasoning to discuss their arguments.

Marketing & Entrepreneurship: The Perfect Pitch shows students how to best pitch their business idea to potential investors. Then, have your students watch this YouTube video that shows them how to write a killer startup pitch deck
