Curriculum You Can Use
February is CTE Month and we’re excited to bring you an integrated project! Over the next four weeks, students will learn how to create awareness for their career academy by: building a marketing plan, creating a presentation, producing photo or video tours, and sharing relevant links to policy and industry.

For this week, students will select the audience they will target with their marketing plan.

Project Preview for weeks 2-4:
  • Week 2: Virtual Brochure – Use a graphic design program to create a virtual brochure to market and increase awareness of your NAF academy.
  • Week 3: Virtual Road Map – Students create a virtual roadmap of their academy courses, the post-secondary pathways, and the connection to their future careers.
  • Week 4: Virtual Presentation – Complete the marketing plan and present to the class.
ONLINE & HYBRID TEACHING
Check out these great tips from Jennifer Gonzalez to level up your EdTech skills by learning how to record voice feedback in Google Classroom, conducting online portfolio assessments, and helping your students evaluate media bias.
RACIAL EQUITY IN PRACTICE
Have your students meet and be inspired by Black History in the making, Lauren Simmons, the youngest ever and second African-American female trader. Have them build their knowledge and skills of investing by playing the Stock Market Game and check out this list of Black stocks.
WORK-BASED LEARNING
This Thursday is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Celebrate the incredible achievements of many STEM women, who smashed stereotypes and fought discrimination. For more ideas on how to honor this day, check out the UN Women’s page on how to educate, discuss, and celebrate.
